With the growth of smartphones, IoT, cloud services, and high-resolution video content, optical communication technologies are becoming increasingly important for fast and stable transmission of large amounts of data.

Based on GaAs and InP compound semiconductor optical device technologies, FOSEM is advancing the development of photodetectors for high-speed optical communication systems.
In particular, FOSEM is enhancing its optical device technologies for long-distance optical communication networks, subscriber networks, and 5G network environments, focusing on PIN Photodiodes that convert optical signals into electrical signals and Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs) that provide high receiver sensitivity.

High-speed, high-sensitivity photodetectors are key components that determine the data transmission quality and stability of optical communication systems.
Based on its experience in developing photodetectors for 10Gbps and 25Gbps optical communications, FOSEM aims to provide photonic semiconductor solutions required for next-generation ultra-high-speed optical communication infrastructure.

  • PIN Photodiode
    A high-speed photodetector that converts optical signals into fast and stable electrical signals. Applied to optical communication receivers that require high-speed data transmission.

    A high-sensitivity photodetector capable of detecting weak optical signals through its internal amplification characteristics. It is suitable for long-distance transmission and high-performance optical receiver systems.
